1st P-CVE National Donor Coordination Meeting – Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 1st P-CVE National Donor Coordination Meeting – Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be taking place on 28th August 2019. The event, organised in collaboration with the EU Regional CT and Security Advisor, Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina will initiate the national-level thematic (P-CVE) coordination in respective IISG Beneficiaries, supported by the IPAII2016 Multi-Country Action entitled “Support to P-CVE in the WB”.

The meeting will be held back-to-back with the P-CVE Stakeholders’ Platform Meeting – Bosnia and Herzegovina meeting on 27th August at the same location. The general purpose of both events is to establish efficient multi-agency and whole-of-society approach and institutional response to P-CVE and to direct a targeted and in-depth coordination at the national level.

P-CVE Stakeholders Platform Meeting – Bosnia and Herzegovina

The P-CVE Stakeholders’ Platform Meeting – Bosnia and Herzegovina will be taking place on 27th August 2019 in Sarajevo, BiH. Providing support to youth in local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bosnia and Herzegovina is organising within the community-based project aimed at the prevention of violent extremism in BiH – “Community Based Approach to Support Youth in Targeted Municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina” a conference entitled “Providing support to youth in local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina“. The conference, to be held on 20 September 2018 in Sarajevo, aims at bringing together actors and individuals from the fifteen project municipalities to present current results, the impact of the ongoing project and the importance of local ownership as well as the role of first-line responders in regard to efforts on preventing violent extremism. Furthermore, the conference will provide various international and local stakeholders with a further understanding of local activities and youth and parents’ initiatives in addressing the phenomena of radicalization and violent extremism.

Kick-Off meeting of the Regional Network for P&CVE Coordinators

The IISG Support Group and the EUD / EUSR Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the CEELI Institute Prague, are organizing the Kick-Off Meeting of the Regional Network for P/CVE Coordinators, intended for the establishment of a regional platform which will create a high-level forum for a regular exchange of good practices, national approaches and challenges faced in the development as well as implementation of P/CVE strategies and action plans. The meeting is going to take place in Prague between 7- 8 June.  The establishment of a Regional Network of National P/CVE Coordinators is one of the many steps that IISG aims at making, in order to achieve the WBCTi iPA 2018-2020 goals.

IPAII 2017 “Countering Serious Crime in the Western Balkans”: Kick-Off Workshop in BiH

Within the Instrument of Pre-Accession (IPA) II 2017, the regional action “Countering Serious Crime in the Western Balkans”,  funded by the EU (DG NEAR) and Germany (German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development), the implementing partners (the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government, the Italian Ministry of Interior and the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC)) are organizing a series of kick-off workshops representing the official start of the project in the Western Balkans.

The overall objective of the project is to improve the security in the Western Balkans and the EU by combatting organized crime and terrorism. Emphasizing the need for awareness raising and cooperation among regional and national capacities to counter serious crimes, which included the recovery of illegal financial gains and the fight against illegal migrant smuggling.

The projects` kick-off workshops in the Western Balkan countries, will be organized as follows:

  • Belgrade, Serbia: 19th- 20th February,
  • Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina: 22nd- 23rd February,
  • Tirana, Albania: 26th- 27th February,
  • Podgorica, Montenegro: 28th- 29th February,
  • Pristina, Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244/99): 5th- 6th March,
  • Skopje, Republic of Macedonia: 7th- 8th March 2018.
