The IISG Secretariat had a meeting with the OSCE Mission in Podgorica on the 8th of December 2022. The OSCE Mission in Montenegro was informed on the work of the IISG, and the progress achieved so far, including the benefits and obligations stemming from the potential membership in IISG.

The Head of IISG Secretariat (HoS), Mr. Agron Sojati, provided information on the IISG mechanism explaining the activities related to the needs mapping process, response mapping, and support mapping  –  state of play of the IISG Database. Mr. Stephen Harmon, Programme Manager, Security Co-Operation and Governance, introduced OSCE Mission to Montenegro, and explained the structure and mission.

The IISG HoS explained the process of becoming a member and that the final decision is made by the members of the IISG Board at the Board meeting, with the next one being planned for the first quarter of 2023. The OSCE representative emphasised the role of OSCE Mission in security area in Montenegro and stated the need for more cooperation with other stakeholders in the region. Mr. Harmon commented very positively the opportunity to join the IISG platform as the other OSCE missions in the region.
