The IISG Support Group participates in the Brdo Process

On 4 March 2020, the IISG Support Group participated in the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Brdo Process, chaired by the Slovenian Minister of the Interior Mr Boštjan Poklukar. The Western Balkan partners supported the new strategic guidelines to the Regional Informal Network of National Anti-Trafficking Coordinators, which has been operating for ten years under the auspices of the Brdo Process. Ministers and other high-level representatives also supported enhanced regional cooperation in the field of countering child sexual abuse online, which has been one of the current priorities of the EU Policy cycle in the fight against serious and organised crime.

During 2017–2019, the Brdo Process hosted the IISG ministerial Board Meetings in accordance with the IISG Terms of Reference. This Slovenian-led regional framework was also the forum where the IISG was first initiated – in 2014, the ministers of the Brdo Process first called for a mechanism that would improve coordination and alignment of efforts in the Western Balkans, which led to the endorsement of WBCTi Council Conclusions by the Council of the EU.
