The 15th Regional Network of National CT-P/CVE Coordinators (RNNC) Meeting was held on 17 April 2024 in Tirana, Albania. The meeting served as a collaborative platform for national CT-P/CVE coordinators, regional experts, and stakeholders to discuss counter-terrorism and prevention of violent extremism in the Western Balkans.

Mr. Eddy Greif, the Regional CT/Security Expert, extended a warm welcome to participants, acknowledging the significance of collective efforts in addressing security challenges across the region.

Mr. Agron Sojati, Head of the IISG Secretariat, provided a detailed update on the Western Balkan Counter-Terrorism initiative (WBCTi) and introduced the new IISG Database, emphasizing its role in enhancing regional security cooperation.

Participants from the Western Balkans shared updates on their national CT strategies, noting both progress and challenges, and discussed the implementation of 2018 Joint Action Plan (JAP) and related achievements. This gathering not only facilitated an exchange of best practices but also reinforced the commitment to improving security across the region.

Participants engaged in a vibrant discussion to refine and update the Joint Action Plan, following decisions made at the October 2023 Ministerial JHA meeting in Skopje.

Presentations from multiple stakeholders such as the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training, and others focused on security challenges and resilience-building. These presentations underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing these issues.

The 15th RNNC meeting concluded with closing remarks that celebrated the effective collaboration facilitated by the IISG Secretariat and the dedication of all participants to regional security goals.
