Under the facilitation of the IISG Secretariat, a meeting was held on 9^th of February 2024, in Belgrade, with the representatives of SEESAC to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing regional security.

The IISG Secretariat provided updates on recent developments within the IISG process, highlighting progress made in mapping needs, mapping responses, and the IISG Database aimed at enhancing security cooperation in the region. Emphasizing sustained collaboration among member states and stakeholders, Mr. Sojati underlined the importance of ongoing dialogue.

A comprehensive presentation of the IISG Database was delivered during the meeting, emphasizing its role as a central repository for critical data and resources essential for advancing regional security initiatives. Special attention was given to its capacity to streamline project processes, provide analysis of projects, and promote effective communication among stakeholders.

Lively discussions ensued regarding collaborative strategies to address emerging security challenges, emphasizing proactive measures and information-sharing mechanisms.

Participants explored potential avenues for enhanced cooperation, including joint exercises, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge-sharing platforms. Concrete action points were identified to strengthen the partnership between SEESAC and IISG Secretariat.

The meeting served as a fruitful platform for exchanging ideas and fostering synergies among key stakeholders in regional security. SEESAC’s potential participation in the IISG stakeholder coordination meeting in Belgrade in November 2024 was also discussed as a means to enhance cooperation and alignment of objectives.
